What ITIG Rx adds to prescribing
The base prescription features of ITIG Clinic, the unified form, favourites, the chart check, and the refill queue, are on every tier. ITIG Rx adds the following.
- The MoPH unified prescription, in three copies
- One PDF with the patient copy, the pharmacist copy, and the physician copy, colour-banded white, pink, and yellow as in ministerial decision 1295, with trilingual labels and the international non-proprietary name on each line. Age, sex, diagnosis, and allergies are added as good-practice fields.
- A safety check before issuing
- Every line is checked against the patient’s recorded allergies and current medicines, plus a rule set for interactions and duplicate therapy. That rule set is a curated demonstration set, not a licensed clinical database, and a clinic in production pairs it with one. Alerts warn and never block. The prescriber can proceed with a recorded reason.
- Lookups only, never a diagnosis
- ITIG Rx looks up recorded chart data. It does not suggest a diagnosis. The diagnosis field is typed by the physician.
- A lifecycle, not just a print
- Locking turns a draft into an order. A reprint stamps DUPLICATE on every copy. Cancel, amend, and entered-in-error each need a coded reason and leave a permanent event. Renewal reopens the composer with a summary of what changed since the original.
- Chronic medication
- A dashboard of long-term treatments with the next refill due, overdue and due-soon flags, and an adherence figure computed from dispensing history.
- Generic substitution per line
- A prescriber can mark a line non-substitutable, the article 47 mention. The pharmacist sees the mark and cannot substitute that line.
- Typo-tolerant search
- A prescription can be found by a misspelt patient or drug name, in Arabic or Latin script.
From the chart to the printed form
The check against the patient’s own allergies and current medicines warns the prescriber and never blocks. Going ahead records a reason with the prescription.
NSSF coverage marking
- Three states, never a guess
- Each line is Covered, Not covered, or Not verified. A medicine with no registration number, or with no entry in the loaded coverage list, stays Not verified. It is never shown as Not covered.
- An estimate, labelled as one
- Where a line is covered with a known tier (80, 90, or 95 percent of the NSSF-approved price) and a known price, the reimbursable and patient-share amounts are computed and marked as estimates from the NSSF-approved price, not the shelf price.
- The MoPH price list
- An importer reads the Ministry of Public Health public drug price list and attaches real registration numbers to catalogue products, matching by brand name and strength. An ambiguous or absent match stays Not verified.
- Companion sheet and claim pack
- A coverage sheet per prescription and a reimbursement claim pack for dispensed prescriptions, printable and as CSV, in all three languages. The statutory form itself is unchanged.
- Financial information only
- Coverage never changes what a doctor may prescribe.
For pharmacies
- A dispensing queue
- A pharmacist role sees locked, active, undispensed prescriptions from the last three days, with the cheapest same-ingredient generic offered where substitution is allowed, and no clinical notes or diagnoses.
- A dispense ledger
- Every dispense is recorded with what was handed over and whether it was a substitute.

- FHIR R4
- ITIG Rx emits a FHIR R4 bundle for a prescription: Patient, AllergyIntolerance, one MedicationRequest per line, Coverage, and MedicationDispense, validated against the R4 schema in tests. HL7 v2 is a labelled preview, not a live bridge.
- Audit
- Every create, lock, print, reprint, cancel, amendment, dispense, and export is written to the audit trail.
What to know before you buy
The three-copy layout follows the ministerial decision as we read it and is marked in the software as pending verification against the current printed form. The interaction rule set is a curated demonstration set, and production use pairs it with a licensed clinical interaction database. NSSF coverage is marked from the coverage list loaded into the system.
